Liberty beat King Faisal

Sellas Tetteh's Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals fought hard from a goal deficit in the first half to beat Alhaji Grunzah's Kumasi based King Faisal 2-1 in their 13th Week Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday. It was the home side that scored the first goal in the 31st minute by Boli Jean Francois who earlier in the first minute attracted a yellow card for challenging Liberty's goalkeeper Patrick Antwi in his box. Liberty came close to levelling up in the 35th minute but a powerful drive from Richard Boateng went off target. On resumption of the second half, Liberty improved on their game with U-20 star, Latif Salifu equalizing from Isaac Donkor's cross from the left flank in a goal mouth melee in the 63rd minute. King Faisal's Ebo Ando in a struggle with a defender in the 68th minute used his hand to propel the ball into the net, but referee Daniel Offei right on the spot detected the offence and rightly disallowed the goal and also showed the player the yellow card. The match from then became a ding-dong affair with both sides displaying delay tactics but just at the stroke to full time Liberty in counter attack scored the match winner through Isaac Donkor. In the counter attack by the Liberty attackers, Faisal's keeper Samuel Okyere dash out to save the situation, but Donkor was fast to beat him and hit the back of the net but referee Offei rather whistled for a spot kick claiming that the ball hit the hand of substitute Hamza Mohammed before entering the net. Substitute Christopher Nkansah scored from the resultant kick to bring the final score to 2-1 in favour of Liberty.
