Theres been another change at the summit of the premiership with Aduana FC leapfrogging Kessben FC to top place. Aduana, making their debut campaign in the elite division have recorded some wonderful results which has earned them a one-point lead at the top ahead All Stars, Kessben and Hearts of Oak in that order as the league heads into a break to make way for the start of the African Cup of Nations. Playing at their stronghold in Dormaa, the new premiership campaigner finished the first round of the league with a 1-0 win over AshantiGold as Kwame Frimpongs goal settled the tie. All Stars need moved second after beating struggling Great Olympics 2-1 at the Wa Park. The Blues were helped to the win with goals coming from Fatal Mohammed and Charles Nortey Sowah. Mahatma Otoos double at the Ohene Djan Stadium handed champions Hearts of Oak a 2-0 victory over Real Tamale United who have conceded six goals in their last two games. The win lifts the Phobians to third as they stay within distance of the top in their title defence. The hopes of Kessben FC finishing the first round of the season on top were dashed as Francis Cofies equalizer for Asante Kotoko cancelled out Bismark Idans opener at the Anane Boateng Stadium. Kotokos frustrations were exposed as the game neared the final minutes when central defender, Michael Ofosu Appiah was shown the red card for indecent attack on referee Mercy Tagoe. King Faisal picked their second successive win in the league though they still stay in the relegation zone. The Kumasi-based side were 3-1 winners against Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium. Frank Acheampong, Prince Arko and Abu Naaba Jnr all scored for Faisal while Osei Banahene could only pull a goal back for the distraught Lions side. At the Len Clay Stadium, Berekum Arsenals were undone in the second half as New Edubiase gunned down the Gunners 2-0. Ibrahim Moro and striker Seidu Bansi scored for the home side. Chelsea ensured that Eleven Wise slumped back into the drop zone as Moro Mubarak scored the only goal at the Coronation Park. Hasaacas did little to lift themselves off the bottom of the table as they could only draw 1-1 with Liberty Professionals at the Sekondi Stadium.
