Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has honored the tennis star with a powerful video celebrating her return to the US Open final a year after she fought for her life following the birth of their daughter.

The 35-year-old Reddit co-founder took to his Instagram page on Friday to share the inspiring clip, which is a mash-up of footage of Serena, 36, in the hospital with their newborn daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. last September and her on-court interview with after Thursday's match.

'She fought for her life, for our child, for recognition, for equal pay, for women’s rights. She never gives up. She’s passionate and unrelenting and the most inspiring person I know,' Alexis wrote in the caption.
