Police Ladies embark on endurance walk

The Ashanti Regional Police Ladies Association (POLAS) on Saturday embarked on an endurance Walk to keep them in good shape and form to combat crime in the Metropolis as part of the Week Celebration of the Association. The celebration is on the theme �Uniting Genders to Combat Crime�. The five-hour Walk commenced at the forecourt of the Kumasi Central Police Station at about 7:00am with the participants walking through the principal streets of Kumasi Metropolis before converging at the Central Police Station Park. The Fire Service Ladies Association, Immigration Service Ladies Association and Ghana Prisons Service Association also took part in the Walk to show solidarity to their colleagues. Speaking to the GNA Sports after the Walk, Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Gloria Agyare, Leader of the Association, stressed the need for parents to take good care of their wards to enable them become responsible adults in future. She said that a study by the Criminal Investigations Department indicated that most criminals were products of broken homes and therefore urged stakeholders to be conscious of joining efforts to campaign against breakages of marriage to help foster stable marriage homes. ASP Agyare urged her colleagues to continue to train hard to be combat ready and also keep fit always to maintain peace in the Metropolis and the country.
