We'll Give Everything To Beat Ghana - Ethiopia Coach

Walias coach Abraham Mebratu believe the home fans will play a vital role on the outcome of Sunday's big fixture against the Black Stars.

Ethiopia coach Abraham Mebratu is counting on home support to see off the Black Stars in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.

The Walias will host Ghana at the Addis Ababa Stadium on a penultimate matchday where three points will put the home side on the brink of Afcon qualification for the first time since 2013.

With a humiliating 5-0 away loss to Ghana in the first leg, the Ethiopians know just what they will be up against and are leaving no stone unturned in their search for their second three points of the campaign.

"The fans were amazing in our last game which we drew with Kenya," Mebratu said.

"I realised we made things difficult for them [Kenya] and it was based on the fans coming in their numbers.

"We need to do same for the Ghana game on Sunday because the Black Stars are a good side and if the fans come in their numbers, that will help us beat them.

"It is important we win this game and we will give everything in us to ensure we get a good result."

Ethiopia drew goalless with Kenya in their last home game last month.

While the Walias sit second on Group E's table behind leaders Kenya, Ghana occupy the third spot, just a position above bottom-placed Sierra Leone.

The two top sides on the table after the series qualify for next year's Afcon in Cameroon.
