There have been various controversies and �word fight� on Ghanacelebrities.com as result of a published article which described Leila Djansi as a Hollywood director. GhanaCelebrities.Com caught up with Leila Djansi for a chit chat and to put an end to this �word fight� among our readers,we asked her,� Are you a Hollywood director or not�.She replied,�I am a filmmaker. I am not interested in being attached to any industry. Film making is universal. I have worked in Ghana and I have worked in Hollywood as well as in Canada. I see all as privileges and I thank God for that. Whether Leila works in Hollywood or not is not what matters, what matters is that, is Leila a filmmaker? Yes she is. I don't see what the fight on Ghanacelebrities.com is about�. Leila has written high profile movies like, The Sisterhood, Subcity, Jezebel, The Rub and directed the trilogy, �I Sing of Well�, Cold Sheet, Grass Between My Lips, Study Abroad ,TwigCarver among others. In the United States, she has established Turning Point Pictures, an independent production company geared towards social "issue" films. The company is responsible for films like Grass between My lips, Toads for Dinner, Red Soil and Tulips, which deals with the issue of women enslavement(Trokosi).
