“We Want To Go Back With The Trophy” - Nigeria Coach

Thomas Dennerby, head coach for the female national team of Nigeria, Super Falcons has said, they came into this year’s competition with the aim of going back with the trophy won two years ago.

     Dennerby, said though Cameroon was a strong side, they have prepared well for the task ahead and no team would stand in their way.

     “So far we have had good preparations, we just have to follow the plans we came here with and we are not changing anything, it is one game and it’s important for us.

     “We are trying to do things the same way we started the tournament and we want to go back with the cup and nothing has changed, so we are hoping to do that come tomorrow against Cameroon”.

     According to head coach of the eight times continental winners, they have had pre-match and post-match meetings and they have noticed their mistakes and worked on them.

     “We have had our post-match and pre-match meetings and identified what we did wrong and have to solve, and we have worked towards making amends.

     “I know we are going play a very good team tomorrow but we will have to play well and utilize our chances to win.

     “There is always pressure in these type of games but we are ready for it, I am used to it and it is under control just as my team.

     Nigeria take on Cameroon in the first semi-final of the ongoing African Women Cup (AWCON) 2018 at the Accra Sports Stadium, having beating them 2:1 and 1:0 in the previous two editions in 2014 and 2016 at Namibia and Cameroon respectively.
