CAF Confederation Cup: Kotoko Finalise Squad For Kenya's Kariobangi Sharks

The Porcupine Warriors' traveling party for Saturday's continental fixture has been confirmed.

Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko have unveiled an 18-man squad for Saturday's Caf Confederation Cup away clash with Kenyan outfit Kariobangi Sharks.

Coach Charles 'CK' Akonnor's squad is led by midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei, who won the 2015 Caf Champions League and 2016 Confederation Cup with Congolese fold TP Mazembe and influential captain Amos Frimpong, who scored twice in Sunday's 3-0 friendly triumph over Ghana's national U-23 side.

Veteran midfielder Jordan Opoku also made the list, alongside recent signing from Wafa, Martin Antwi.

Guinean recruit Naby Laye Keita, Burkinabe signing Sogne Yacouba and Frederick Boateng are the three selected strikers.

There was, however, no place for Abass Mohammed, who recently joined the Porcupine Warriors after some time in the USA, new signing Kwame 'Conte' Bonsu - who last played for Swedish side Gefle - and renowned striker Obed Owusu.

Saturday's game will be Kotoko's first of the 2018-19 Caf Confederation Cup, having made the first round of the competition without kicking a ball following the inability of Cameroon to present a representative in the preliminary round.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to face Sharks at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, a week before hosting the return encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

In the 2018 Confederation Cup, the Porcupine Warriors were eliminated in the preliminary round.
