'Ayorkor Botchway Was Emotional...She Could Have Done Better' - NPP MP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, Frank Anor Dompreh, has described as 'unfortunate' a confrontation that occurred on Monday involving the Foreign Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.

According to him, Madam Ayorkor Botchwey should have controlled her emotions even though she was provoked.

There were verbal exchanges between Ms Botchwey and North Tongu MP (NDC), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in the lobby of parliament. This was after Mr Ablakwa accused the government of allegedly inflating the cost ($12 million) of a six-bedroom residence for Ghana’s new mission in Norway.

Speaking to the issue in an interview on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia, Tuesday, Mr Anor Dompreh, said: "It was unfortunate what happened…the minister got emotional…we thank God it did not degenerate…I am not trying to justify what happened….I think she should have been more tolerant. We are humans and one way or the other we make mistakes. I am sure the next time she will be much more careful"
