Aggrieved Fomena NPP Executives, Footsoldiers Set Constituency Office Ablaze

Some irate party executives and foot soldiers of the New Patriotic Party in the Fomena constituency have set their constituency office ablaze.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.

The rampaging NPP activists first tore down the curtains in the office, destroyed the office furniture and plastic chairs, before setting the place on fire.

Others members of the enraged team wielded clubs and stones which were used to break the floor tiles of the office and the louver blades.

Peacefmonline sources at the scene say the livid executives' course of action, was to register their displeasure with their Member of Parliament, Hon. Andrew Amoako Asiamah, whom they had earlier accosted at a meeting prior to the incident.

There has been no love lost between the party members and top executives of NPP Fomena constituency, which is affecting the unity of the party.

Peacefmonline.com further gathers that Hon Amoako Asiamah and the Constituency Chairman, Akwasi Nti, were attacked at a meeting held by Regional executives of the ruling party in the Ashanti Region, as part of efforts aimed at resolving their differences.

It however, turned violent, resulting in the burning of the party office.

Present at that peace meeting were the NPP Ashanti Regional Women's Organizer, Nana Ama Ampomah, some regional executives of the party including the member of Parliament for Subin.

Meanwhile, the Adansi Fomena District Fire Service Commander, Theophilus Appiah, has told the media the fire started around 2:30am today - adding that his outfit has commenced investigations into the matter
