Bye-election Is Mid-term Referendum On The Performance of Akufo-Addo Gov't - Sammy Gyamfi

National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has urged constituents of Ayawaso West Wougon to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) replacement for the constituency seat.

Sammy Gyamfi said a vote for Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan, wife of the late Member of Parliament for the constituency, Kyeremateng Agyarko; is an endorsement by Ghanaians of the bad governance of the Akufo-Addo government.

Commenting on the impending Ayawaso West Wougon bye-election to be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019; Sammy Gyamfi noted that the by-election will be a reflection of the position of the entire nation on the performance of President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government.

To him, voting for the wife of the late MP means they are "endorsing the economic hardships that we’re currently really under as a people".

In order to avoid the possible bad omen on the nation, the NDC Communications Officer appealed to the constituents to rally behind the NDC candidate Delali Kwasi Brempong who he believed will improve the constituency.

Sammy Gyamfi told host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' that the NPP has retained the Parliamentary seat of the Ayawaso West Wougon for about 22 years but failed to enhance the development of the constituency.

The bye-elections, he added, is a "mid-term referendum on the performance of Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government” and so entreated the constituents to vote wisely.
