Live Update - AFCON Semi-finals: Ghana 1-0 Nigeria (Full-Time)

The Black Stars of Ghana, with a depleted team and a relatively young and inexperienced side, made history this afternoon when they humbled arch-rivals and West African neighbours, Nigeria, to book a place in the Africa Cup of Nations final in Angola. Asamoah "Baby Jet" Gyan scored the only goal of the match. Read Minute by Minute report of the match. FULL-TIME Ghana 1-0 Nigeria Ghana have booked their place in the final of the Nations Cup, but it was Nigeria who dominated the game. Will Amodu be given the sack despite the Super Eagles' efforts in Angola? 94 mins: Corner for Nigeria. But Ghana clear and they are away down the other end but the attack comes to nothing. 93 mins: Nigeria free-kick is squared from the left and Sani Kaita slices it wide. Booking for Richard Kingson for time wasting. 92 mins: There are just two minutes left for Ghana to hold on, with their entire subs bench praying for a clean sheet. 90 mins: Nigeria are awarded a free kick and Mikel lays it off to Kaita across the edge of the box and the defender hits another wayward shot. Amodu is blowing his top off at that decision. 89 mins: Four minutes of stoppage time. No real way through for Nigeria and coach Shaibu Amodu is getting vocal on the sidelines. About a minute of normal time left now. 87 mins: Kaita fires a horrid shot from the corner and with all the Nigerian pressure, Inkoom is the latest man to make it into the ref's bad books. 86 mins: Kingston makes a rare error in judgement today and comes out for a ball that Obasi was favourite to win. The players collide and the goalkeeper goes down, but gets back up to face a corner. 85 mins: Nice skills from Chinedu Obasi down the left which takes out the Ghana defence but his cross is too deep and Richard Kingson hangs on. 84 mins: SUBSTITUTION GHANA: Ghana make another change as Asamoah Gyan is replaced by Matthew Amoah. Ghana's Samuel Inkoom is booked and it's getting a bit desperate now in the Black Stars' defensive third. 81 mins: Nigeria are still pressing, but are running out of steam and ideas. Kwadwo meanwhile, has made a few stray passes which is uncharacteristic. 79 mins: Ghana are failing to take advantage of their counter attacking options and this could prove costly. SUBSTITUTION NIGERIA: Yusuff off and Chidi Odiah is on. 77 mins: Martins gathers an incredible long ball and looks certain to score before being put under pressure from Inkoom. He gets a soft shot off at an angle, which Kingston comes out to save. 75 mins: Yakubu goes down in the box and demands a penalty, but the referee rightly ignores his appeals. It was a good tackle by the defender. 73 mins: Feed the Yak and he will.... great chance for Yakubu as Elderson Echiejile smashes a cross into the Everton forward but it cannons off him and it spurts wide. Maybe feeding him a bit too forcefully there. 71 Mins: ANOTHER NIGERIA SUBSTITUTION:Peter Odewingie has his spot taken by Yakubu and hands him the captain's armband. 70 mins: Inkoom comes across just in time to make a vital, goal-saving tackle. 69 mins: Mikel plays two good balls behind Ghana's defence is quick succession. The first is a bit too long for Obinna, but the second one is well controlled by Martins. 67 mins: SUBSTITUTION NIGERIA: Victor Nsofor Obinna comes on for Ayiila Yussuf, to provide another attacking option for the Super Eagles. 65 mins: Dramani makes a probing run for Ghana, before cutting the ball somewhat badly back for Gyan, whose long-range shot is easily gathered by Enyeama. 63 mins: Obasi shoots over and moments later, he sets up Mikel, who shoots wide. In the midst of all the Nigeria pressure, Annan received a yellow card for a badly-executed dive. 61 mins: Kingston makes a great save to deny Martins, who was quick to read Mikel's little dink pass. The keeper was off his line in an instant to avert the danger. 59 mins: Mikel miskicks the ball after some fine interchanges from Obasi and Yussuf finds Odemwingie, who sets up the Chelsea star. That was Nigeria's best chance of the second spell. 58 mins: Kwadwo makes a promising run down the left for Ghana, but his cross is poor when the right option would have been to cut the ball back to Gyan who was waiting in the six-yard area. 56 mins: Odemwingie passes the ball back to Yusuf Mohammed and instead of the defender laying the ball off again, he has a go from a long way out that doesn't trouble Kingston at all. 55 mins: SUBSTITUTION GHANA: Rahim Ayew comes onto the pitch in place of the injured Hans Sarpei. 53 mins: Nigeria come close to finding the equaliser as Obasi and Mikel combine. Chinedu Obasi has a shot blocked. Must do better in bright yellow boots! By the way, is anyone with me when I say that coloured boots are for forwards only? Obasi goes close again from a run down the right but his shot hits the side netting. 50 mins: Ghana are under the cosh slightly and it is showing as they concede possession over and over again. 48 mins: Amodu's half-time talk seems to have worked with Nigeria bombarding the Ghana goal with crosses, while Odemwingie is trying to pull the trigger from just about any angle. 46 mins: Odemwingie is set free for Nigeria and his ball into the danger area is cut out by Addy, who is lucky his clearance was tame, else the scores would have been level. 2ND HALF Begins Half-time: Ghana 1-0 Nigeria Ghana clinched the one clear chance they created in the first 45 minutes to take the lead. Nigeria will feel defeated going back into the tunnel as the dominated much of the game. 47 mins: Mikel goes off to get some treatment as injury time comes to a close. 45 mins: The resulting free kick has to be punched out by Kingston and Nigeria win a corner, which Odemwingie latches on to, but his shot is disappointing. 44 mins: Three minutes of first-half stoppage time and Ghana will be happy to get to the break like it is. Nigeria have the initiative here. Peter Odemwingie begins a run from the left but is decked by Haminu Draman as he moves inside. The Ghana man is booked for his efforts and Richard Kingson makes a decent parry from the free-kick. 43 mins: Mikel is trying to many 'miracle' balls and Sani Kaita seems to also be looking for divine intervention as he lets fly from range. His effort is well wide. 41 mins: Not surprisingly, Yussuf is back on the field of play. He clearly only went to ground in order to stop a Ghana attack. Inkoom makes a good clearance and then run down the right for the Black Stars, but he can't pick out a team-mate. 39 mins: The game is halted as Yussuf goes down and needs to be stretchered off the field. 37 mins: BOOKING: Yussuf is the first man on the referee's book following a poorly-timed tackle. 35 mins: Nigeria are playing possession football, with only Odemwingie looking to up the ante. He takes a shot which is deflected out. 33 mins: Ayiila Yussuf plays a delightful reserve ball to Martins, who tries to create more space for a shot by cutting away from goal and Ghana clear the danger. 31 mins: SUBSTITUTION GHANA: Opuko has to leave the field after three challenges in quick succession. Haminu Draman is his replacement. 30 mins: Uwa Echiejile puts through a wonderful ball across the face of the goal from the left, but Odemwingie can't get his header on target. 27 mins: Ghana's Opoku Agyemang is struggling and looks like he might have to come off. Obafemi Martins has a great chance to equalise when a Peter Odemwingie cross falls to him but Richard Kingson makes a fine save. 25 mins: Gyan does ever so well to control a loose ball that was just lost by Nigeria and hitting a first time shot at an unexpecting Enyeama. Luckily for the Super Eagles, it flew just over the crossbar. 23 mins: Nigeria have enjoyed the better play in the game, but the Black Stars have made their second corner of the clash count. That was the first goal Nigeria conceded in 320 minutes. 21 mins: GOAL GHANA: Asamoah's delivery to the near post is wonderfully met by Gyan, who was poorly marked. These two players have quite an understanding. It was the same duo who booked Ghana's place in the semis against hosts Angola. 19 mins: Kwadwo Asamoah finally gets into the game and wins a corner after out-foxing Obinna Nwaneri down the left flank 16 mins: The Black Stars' start to the game is encapsulated by Addy, who tries a low shot from a good 35-plus yards out. It has neither the pace no the technique to trouble Vincent Enyeama. 14 mins: Ghana are struggling to get the ball to their lone forward Asamoah Gyan as Nigeria continue to boss possession and the midfield battle. 11 mins: At the other end of the field, Nigeria put Addy under pressure and win a corner, which is well defended. Emmanuel Badu Agyemang goes down easily after some contact from Mikel on his face. Odemwingie, nevertheless puts the ball out of play. 9 mins: Ghana win a corner after a rare foray forward and Agyemang Opoku's corner is recovered by Lee Addy, who picks up Andre Ayew, but his shot goes well wide. 7 mins: Mikel hits a ball from the middle of the field behind Ghana's defence, but Samuel Inkoom gets a vital touch. 5 mins: Nigeria are bombing down the left quite nicely, while Mikel has been busy in the centre of the park. Anthony Annan's late tackle catches Martins, but Mikel's free kick directed at the far post is cut out. 2 mins: Nigeria start off guns ablazing, with Peter Odemwingie putting through a dangerous ball over the top and into the path of Obafemi Martins. The Black Stars recover quickly to thwart the striker, who lets the ball run to keeper Richard Kingson but it is nice and positive from Amodu's men. 1 min: The Estadio 11 de Novembre looks like a packed house despite hosts Angola being dumped out of the tournament. Sepp Blatter is one of the many faces at the ground. Nigeria have selected quite an attacking line-up, so hopefully, we'll be treated to some goals in this west-African derby. The Super Eagles get the game underway...
