Bryan Acheampong Fulfilling Nana Addo’s ‘All Die Be Die’ Rallying Call - Baba Jamal

Former Member of Parliament for the Akwatia Constituency in the Eastern Region, Baba Jamal, has stated that the office of the Minister of State in charge of National Security must be scrubbed because it’s of “no use”.

According to him, the ministry was deliberately created by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to put into effect his infamous ‘all die be die’ mantra.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the NDC guru said the office of national security is rather birthing “hooligans” instead of ensuring peace in the country.

His comment comes on the back of admission by the Minister of State in charge of National Security, Mr Bryan Acheampong, that the gunmen involved in the shooting incident at La-Bawaleshie during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election on Thursday, 31 January 2019 are National Security operatives.

According to Bryan Acheampong, who spoke to the media in an interview, the masked security operatives were deployed based on reliable information gathered by his outfit prior to the by-election near at the Bawalashie polling centre.

The macho men believed to be security agents fired into the crowd at the La-Bawaleshie JHS polling station, injuring seven persons.

In the ensuing melee, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George, was physically manhandled by the hooded and totally masked security operatives.

The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) subsequently pulled out of the election due to the shooting incident.

The Ghana Police Service has meanwhile indicated that it has commenced investigations to identify the masked men.

But in an interview with Akwasi Aboagye, host of Neat FM's morning show, Baba Jamal questioned why the police have not made any arrest, almost a week after the unfortunate incident.

"I am surprised, why can’t they arrest people?...If Nana Addo really want peace in this country, then the perpetrators must be brought to book,” he stated.
