NDC Should Focus Attention On Their Interests, Violence . . . And Forget Election 2020 - Buabeng Asamoah

National Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has asked the leadership of the National Democratic Congress to better forget about the 2020 Elections and focus energies on preparing its members for violence, since it is obvious that is where their interest lies.

He is of the firm conviction that says next year's polls will be issues-based and not an appetite for violence as being prescribed by the NDC.

He was reacting to Ex-President John Dramani Mahama's comments on last Thursday’s shooting incidence during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election that led to the injury of about 18 persons.

Mr Mahama sounded a word of caution to the NPP that the NDC will “match them boot for boot” if they do not desist from attacking their members.

Mr Mahama who gave the warning at a meeting with supporters in the Adaklu Constituency said, “We are not going to joke in 2020 and I’m sounding a warning to the NPP – we are going to match them boot for boot.

Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Programme, the Adentan legislature explained that the NPP has a four (4) year contract with the people of Ghana and they will have to account for their stewardship after the term expires.

"Ghanaians will not be asking and congratulating us for any acts of violence, but rather a feasible manifestation of what we have provided for the people of Ghana during our term of office as government.

"If they(NDC) think we are going into the 2020 elections with acts of violence then they better boycott like they did during the Ayawaso west Wuogon by election.

"They should advise themselves with the failed experiment they carried out during the Ayawaso by election and stay away from 2020 elections.

"Just as his National Chairman boycotted the Ayawaso by election, he should do same even before we go into the next elections. Ghanaians are fed up with the issues of violence. We are now heading towards a development agenda which has been initiated by the Akufo Addo government. And this is what the people of Ghana are looking for, he siad furiously.

"If the NDC thinks they can go ahead and intimidate the people of Ghana with their thugs during election 2020, then they are mistaken because Ghanaians will be assessing them by their productive policies and project," he stated.
