2020 Will Be Deadly If…No Compromises In Political Staredown - Benyiwa Doe Warns

Former Member of the Council of State, Ama Benyiwa Doe, has thrown her weight behind former President John Mahama's declaration of a 'boot-for-boot' violent match against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 General Elections.

John Mahama sent a strong signal that the NDC will not hesitate to bring the fight to the doorstep of the ruling party in next year's general elections, if the incumbent dare attempt to use intimidation tactics on its members.

This comes in the wake of the bloody electoral violence recorded last week Thursday during the Ayawaso West Wuogon Bye-elections which saw the NPP Candidate Lydia Seyram Alhassan emerged winner.

According to Mr. Mahama, “NDC is not going to joke in 2020, and he is sounding a warning to the NPP that he and his party will match NPP boot for boot”.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the one-time Central Regional Minister patted Mr Mahama on the back for his remarks, which some have described as inflammatory.

She further warned that the NDC is fully prepared to meet any misguarded NPP miscreants squarely.

Yes, we will offer no compromises in a political staredown. We are tired of them. I agree with what Mahama said. 2020 will be deadly if....We will fight them [NPP] if they try anything silly,” she forewarned.
