Don't Sell Your "Mind" To Politicians - Nana Ofori Owusu To Ghanaians

National Chairman Aspirant of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu says Ghanaians should not allow politicians to induce them financially for their votes.

According to him, the culture where electorates accept money for exchange of their votes should come to an end because it undermines their integrity.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday, February 24, 2019 elected former President John Dramani Mahama as flagbearer to lead the party into the 2020 elections.

Although the NDC Primaries across the 275 constituencies were peaceful, there were reports of some candidates giving money to the delegates for transportation.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's political programme "Kokrokoo", Nana Ofori Owusu wondered why any person would sell his or her mind to politicians for a few coins or cash notes when they have power to elect who should lead them in the nation.

Nana Ofori Owusu advised Ghanaians to desist from such practice.

" . . is your mind for sale? This facilitation thing is becoming more and more in a case that if you don’t have money, you have to forget the political dispensation . . . Are we paying you to vote or you’re exercising your constitutional right as a party member, as a citizen; to go forth to go and campaign. It appears we have reached a stage that we’re still not very conscious. It’s like we still don’t know what we’re really doing," he said.
