Former BoG Boss Asiama Likely To Be Mahama’s Running mate – ASEPA

The former Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Johnson Asiama, has been tipped to be likely pick as a running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

According to a report by the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Dr. Asiama is likely to be picked as the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) vice presidential candidate ahead of the 2020 polls.

ASEP’s report said Dr. Asiama stands tall of becoming Mahama’s running-mate than any other member of the NDC. 

Mr. Mahama was over the weekend elected the flagbearer for the largest opposition party, pulled 213,487 votes, representing 95.24% of the total votes cast.

This victory was correctly predicted by ASEPA in a separate report released ahead of the elections.

According to ASEPA, some of the factors considered included, Education, Ethnicity, personality, and connection to the grassroots.

However, Mahama is yet to announce his running-mate despite some names being speculated around.
