Mahama Must “Carefully” Choose His Running Mate - Yaw Boateng Gyan

NDC’s Yaw Boateng Gyan says picking a running mate to partner John Dramani Mahama ahead of the 2020 general election must be done “carefully”.

Even before the National Democratic Congress [NDC] went to the polls to elect its flagbearer for the 2020 general elections, many had tipped Mahama to win - but their question then was “who will be the running mate for John Dramani Mahama?”

Names that popped up included; Zanetor Rawlings, one of the Ahwoi brothers, among others - whilst some pollsters are using ethnic balance as the possible determinant for the selection of a running mate for Mr Mahama, others are also basing the argument on regional balance.

Speaking to the issue, the former National Organiser of the opposition NDC advised that Mr Mahama must consult topnotch leaders of the party to make a “better” choice that will ensure victory for the NDC in the next presidential election.

“I know by now he has someone in mind to partner him. This should be done in consultation with the leadership of the party and choose an experienced person so they can start work as soon as possible,” Yaw Boateng Gyan said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
