Why Sam George Refused To Present Bullet Casings To The Police

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George on Monday presented shells of bullets to the Justice Emile Short Commission.

Making his first appearance and giving his testimony, the MP submitted as evidence 29 spent casings and one live round of which he claims were picked up by someone from the scene of the shooting during the violence that marred the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

On Tuesday, Sam George made his second appearance and he was asked why he didn't submit the shells of bullets to the police.

In response, he said he lost trust in the police after he was assaulted and they (police) did nothing to protect him even though they were present.

"My distrust for the police .  .  . they didn’t intervene when I was being assaulted and when I reported they refused to take my statement," he answered.

According to him, he brought the casing to the Commission because he believes it will help them in their investigations.
