Deputy Minister for Regional Re-organization and Development, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah says a careful assessment of the leaked tape of the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is simply showing toughness to cover up his inability to lead the party.

According to the former Director of Elections for the NPP, it is surprising to see such case befalling Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo as he knows him well enough during their days as Directors of Election for their respective parties.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, he reiterated that the NDC Chairman is trying hard to portray before the party executives that he is really working hard, with the explanation he is giving in the leaked tape, but in actual sense his incapability of leading the party to victory in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

“If you analyse the tape carefully, he is trying to say that he led his party to an election and instead of winning the election, he cowardly run away, and the fear of being blamed for the defeat in his first election as a Chairman, he is finding a way to save himself by showing toughness in his explanation as if he can deliver, but he cannot,” he asserted.

He insisted that Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo wants to show toughness in his explanation to his followers who upon pulling out of the by-election felt disappointed and also restore their confidence in him.

“Now he wants to show that he is tough in the explanation he is giving to his followers to restore their confidence in him as his decision to withdraw from the election affected his support base,” he opined.

He maintained that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be disappointed if they put all their trust in their National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo as a leader who sits down to think and workout something to help the party.

“It is obvious he cannot do the job, but he has gone for the job and so he must do something to portray as though he is working,” he claimed.
