Police Hospital Receives Electronic Hospital Information Management System

A Pilot project for the installation of Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS) to keep records of patients electronically, has been launched at the Ghana Police Hospital in Accra.

The pilot project is being undertaken by the Golden Dragon Company Ltd at its own cost of about US$ 100, 000.00 .

The CEO of Golden Dragon Company Ltd Mr Ohene Fianko speaking at the launch of the project at the Ghana Police Hospital said, as part of the project, some personnel of the hospital have been sent to China for training on how to handle the HIMS installed at the hospital.

He said the system will help shorten waiting time at the hospital snd save space for keeping records , thereby enhancing efficiency of service at the hospital .

Mr Ohene Fianko added that the project will be replicated in other public hospitals in the country in future to promote healthcare .

The Medical Director of the Ghana Police Hospital DCOP Dr Mrs Marian Tetteh-Korboe lauded the project . She described the Electronic Hospital Information Management System as very significant as the hospital has the challenge of space to keep paper records .

She also expressed delight about the fact that the system will help shorten waiting time of patients at the hospital .
She therefore thanked Golden Dragon Company Ltd for its support to the hospital.
