The Regional Sports Development Officer of the National Sports Council, Mr. Peter Akowuah, on Wednesday announced that the Cape Coast Metropolitan Departmental League will commence on March 23, 2010. He told GNA Sports that a Gala Competition will be organised on Thursday, March 16, 2010 to usher in the League. Mr Akowuah said the League will also feature other non-scoring sporting disciplines such as draught, Ludu, Table Tennis and Scrabble as a side attraction to the competition. He therefore urged the various departments in the Metropolis to register on time and prepare their teams to enable the League take off on schedule.
