“Normalization Cup Cannot Prepare Our Teams For Africa”- Osei Kofi

Rev. Osei Kofi, former player of Asante Kotoko, has said the Normalization Committee (NC) Special Tournament, will not be enough grounds to perform well in next year’s Africa Inter-Club’s competition.

In an interview with GNA sports, he said, the NC should expedite on their mandate to return the league to full operations.

He advised the government not to allow any team to go to any Africa competition next year, since it would not bring the best out of them.
Adding that, he has won the Africa trophy before and he knows that a lot of preparation goes in before winning the cup.

The 1965 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner said inactivity on the local scene, make it difficult for the local players to be selected for the AFCON 2019.

“We are lucky that all our professional players are playing outside the country and that is the reason why they would be selected to represent Ghana in Egypt and once we are not playing the league, I don’t think the coach can select any local player,” he said.

The former goal poacher urged Ghanaians to give their maxim support to the Black Stars, as he believes with their support, the team can restore the glory moment of Ghana football.
