Kpando Heart of Lions have agreed terms with Turkish Coach, Mehmet Tayfun, who is expected to work in unison with Orlando Wellington, for the rest of the season. Orlando�s role remains the same as the coach of the club except that the new man will act as his boss in terms of Technical Advice or better still Technical Direction.
As per the agreement, Tayfun will help the club in getting foreign contracts for the players, in other words, he will be recommending well cut out players of the club to foreign teams of which he also has links with.
It will be recalled that coach Mehmet Tayfun was in Ghana about a year and half back at the instance of Kwasi Nyantakyi�s Wa All Stars, but there could not be any proper agreement between the two parties as the deal fell through. The Ghanaian terrain is not new to Tayfun who also made an unsuccessful attempt at securing a job at Kotoko few years back.
In an interview with Sports Fila, the CEO of Heart of Lions Mr. Desmond Frimpong Manso ( Cocroach) revealed that though the coach has began work with the club, he has a special role assigned him which does not conflict with the duties of the other technical men in the club.
�Tayfun is here more or less as a technical director and a scout for the club and management believes his arrival is very crucial to the principles of the club in helping the career of the players,� Cocroach said.
Meanwhile, two players of Heart of Lions, Emmanuel Banahene and Mohammed Tanko, who went out to Europe for trials are back in the fold making the team as formidable as ever ahead of their all important 18th week Premier League clash with RTU on Sunday in Tamale.
Heart of Lions are currently seventh on the league table with 25-points, seven points adrift of league leaders Aduana Stars, but they hope to finish among the top two clubs by the end of the season.
