Bature: I Did Not Curse Rawlings; But He Will Incur The Wrath Of God If...

An avid supporter of the ruling National Democratic Congress and social commentator, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature has denied cursing ex-president Rawlings. He however admits saying Rawlings will incur the wrath of God if he did not desist from making unsavory remarks about president John Mills. According to Bature like he Rawlings and John Kufuor, president Mills was ordained by God for which reason any false criticism against him (Mills) will be an attack on God. Ex president Rawlings has over the past year attacked President Mills' administration for what he says is the snail pace at which the government was governing. He is quoted to have called some presidential appointees "corrupt" and greedy bastards whose indiscipline is giving the government a bad name. Such criticisms by Jerry Rawlings according to Alhaji Bature were unacceptable, especially when he provided no evidence to support his allegations. He told Citi news on Friday Rawlings should respect the right of God in choosing whoever He pleases to rule the country. He also feared such criticisms would be used against the party in the 2012 by opposition elements. Whilst Bature would not contest the right of ex-president Rawlings to speak out his mind, Mr Rawlings' comments, he said must be constructive. The criticism by Rawlings he noted was insincere and borne out of bitterness, adding the ex-president has a bone to pick with the Mills. He said he would protect the President against such needless vituperation from ex-president Rawlings.
