I Can Do Better Than Any Coach For Nigeria - Johannes Bonfere

Former Nigeria coach wants to return to the helm of affairs as the NFF continue to search for a gaffer. Throwing his hat in the ring in the continuing drama of Nigerias search for a coach is Dutchman Johannes Bonfrere who won Olympic gold with the Nigerian team at Atlanta 96. Bonfrere, who has not been named in the list of possible candidates for the Nigeria job has said that he is ready to deliver a good performance with the Super Eagles if given the chance to return to his former position which he left unceremoniously in 2001. Bonfrere walked away from his post when it seemed the Super Eagles would fail to qualify for the World Cup in 2002. He is now seeking to take over from his then deputy, Shuaibu Amodu, who later qualified the team for that tournament. I know a lot about Nigerian football and players. I have spent so many years in football and know the mentality of the Nigerian player and also understand the Nigerian football culture, Bonfrere told Complete Sports. I know with my knowledge of Nigerian football I can do a better job than any other coach at this period. I saw the team play in Angola and the performance was not okay. The Super Eagles have quality players which I know I can mould into a strong force at the World Cup. If I am given the opportunity to handle this team, we will do wonders at the World Cup. Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Argentina, South Korea and Greece for this summers World Cup.
