Appiah Confident Of Progress To Next Stage

James Kwesi Appiah, Head Coach of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars, is confident of qualifying to the next round of the competition as he heads into the final Group F encounter against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday, July 2, at the Suez Stadium, Egypt.

Coach Appiah, said in at a pre-match conference that he was not underrating any country, but he was confident his side would secure qualification to the knockout stages.

“I have always said that we need to respect every team.

Guinea-Bissau is a strong team as we saw them play against Benin, so there is no way we would underrate them but we will be going all out to get a win as are also expecting a very good game.

“I have a lot of confidence in my team, most of the time we don’t start well but for me, the game against Cameroon was a better performance and I am quite sure that we would put up a much better performance against Guinea-Bissau than our two previous matches”.

According to Appiah, “a good team is not one with individual players, but one with quality that can come on and change games at any given time, every coach would have loved to play his third game with a qualification in hand, but football has evolved and we have to give respect to all teams.

“What I know is that we have to make sure we qualify to the next stage,” he added.
