Great Olympics Implement Europe-Style Discipline

For the first time in the history of Ghana, a football club has effectively implemented the strict disciplinary code for players and officials of their club to curb indiscipline. Accra Great Olympics coach Dauda Lutterodt has instituted a fine system at the club which has whipped the Premier League side into terrific shape. The new system, approved by the up-to-date CEO George Afriyie, punishes players for offences ranging from absenteeism, lateness and abusive language. The latest fines exclusively seen by Ghanasoccernet in an internal memo shows that the club accrued US$580 from various fines. Key player Malik Akowuah received the highest fine US$60 for absenteeism and losing club apparel while Jonathan Martey got the highest single fine of US$30 for using abusive language. The list shows that some members of the technical team were also fined while other who missed the daily prayer session was also handed the fine. The amount collected will be used for the welfare of the players. Ghana have achieved an excellent record since the start of the second round, winning two of their three matches and drawing the other, leaving them in tenth place. Olympics have seen a great revival under the Afriyie regime as the struggling former giants are now attracting their previously despondent fans who suffered the ignominy of going to the second league two times in the past decade.
