Ex-Presidents J.J And Kufuor At Lunch With President Sirleaf

The Liberian President, Mrs. Ellen John Sirleaf today arrived in Ghana to begin a two-day state visit. She was welcomed by President J.E.A Mills, ministers of state, diplomats and the chiefs of the security agencies among others. The Liberian President, who was accompanied by a high-powered business delegation, inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Ghana Navy with music from Ghana Armed Forces Band. At the Airport (KIA) was the cultural and dance display by the University of Ghana�s School of Performing Arts. There was 21 gun salute in honour of the Liberian President. This is the second time the Liberian leader is visiting Ghana since President Mills assumed office in 2009. The first was a stop over in Accra last year, when she was attending a conference in Qatar. Her recent visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The two presidents of Ghana and Liberia held a meeting and thereafter a bilateral meeting was held by both Ghana and Liberia businessmen and a team of ministers. They discussed issues bordering on Agric, security, trade, democracy and investment that is to benefit the two countries. A communiqu� will be issued tomorrow. A luncheon was held in honour of the Librarian President. It was attended by ex-president J. J. Rawlings and J. A. Kufuor and other big shots. Tomorrow President Sirleaf will lay a wreath for death peacekeepers at Burma Camp. She will address a Liberian Business Day at Accra Conference Centre and depart back to Liberia tomorrow in the afternoon.
