Prof Yankah Asks Delegates To Vote For A Marketable Candidate

Professor Kwesi Yankah, Minister in charge of Tertiary Education has appealed to delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Agona East to vote for a marketable candidate to snatch the Parliamentary seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020.

He said the delegates should use their power to choose the best, affable and dignified candidates to contest the elections.

Speaking at the Agona East NPP delegates’ meeting, Professor Yankah enumerated some social interventions to be carried out in the Constituency, which included a contract to connect 35 communities to the national grid by the end of 2019.

The move he said, was in line with the government’s decision to ensure that every community in the country was connected to the national grid to drive the growth of rural economy.

Professor Yankah regretted that due to the absence of electricity, some people in rural areas found it extremely difficult to undertake small scale entrepreneurial ventures and added that, it would be solved soon.

On education, the Minister hinted that more than 15 educational structures had reached various stages of completion while others had been completed in Agona East and other districts in the Central region.

Mr Ben Mensah, former Municipal Chief Executive for Agona West and a Veteran Journalist asked the delegates to critically assess the other aspirants vying for the Parliamentary position, adding that, Prof Yankah was more capable, marketable and credible to deliver when given the nod.
