NDC Always Lying; Prez Akufo-Addo Is Preserving The Future Of Cocoa In Ghana - Buaben Asamoa

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the Akufo-Addo government has created hardship for cocoa farmers in the country.

According to the opposition party, cocoa farmers are in a terrible state stating, at a press conference, that the current administration has no “credible record to even merit any comparison with the legacy of President Mahama and the NDC".

But Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Buaben Asamoah has refuted the claims and urged Ghanaians not to fall for the lies of the NDC.

Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia", Buaben Asamoa noted that President Akufo-Addo is working hard to preserve the future of cocoa in the country.

"Through the vision of President Akufo-Addo, he has been able to secure an agreement between Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire to maintain cocoa farmers and government international space in the cocoa sector...Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire produce the world's largest cocoa output but end up getting less for their hard work" and so the agreement is to address the challenges of the cocoa sector and also combat cocoa smuggling.

"The President has also reaffirmed his commitment to a better, common strategy and a sustainable solution for the improvement of prices for cocoa producers in the country," he said.
