Rose Bio Atinga Was Appointed By Lottery MP

The Member of Parliament for Asokwa East Constituency in the Ashanti region, Honourable Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has pointed out that the appointment of ASP Rose Bio Atinga, the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, was a mistake and should not have taken place. According to him, whoever appointed Mrs. Atinga Bio as Police commander of Greater Accra made a big mistake, stressing that lapses committed by her in the discharge of her duties so far are doing great disservice to the Police institution. I do not know who appointed Atinga Bio, but I think whoever appointed her as the Greater Accra Police Commander has made a mistake, adding that he believes she was appointed by lottery, stated Mr. Jumah. The firebrand Asokwa MP, also known as Kofi Ghana, was beside himself with rage as he could not comprehend the conduct of the Greater Accra police commander in the matter of last week Thursday that led to the arrest and subsequent remand of one Nana Darkwa Baafi, a panelist at Top Radio, a privately owned radio station in Accra on the morning of the day of the incident. The Asokwa MP was sharing his view on Peace FM on its flagship programme Kokrokoo. In the estimation of Mr. Jumah, Mrs. Atinga Bio did not handle the arrest professionally. He also explained that he could not understand why the police commander could offer the explanation to the effect that the arrest and subsequent remand of Nana Baafi was done to prevent the mob from attacking him. What kind of Ghana is this that the police would arrest and put the person in prison custody and later offer the explanation that they were preventing the person from hostile forces? He wondered. According to the MP, what even shocked him most was the fact that Mrs. Bio Atinga further had the nerve to defend her conduct and misjudgments in the matter of Nana Darkwa Baafi on radio stations. I was bemused to see Mrs. Bio Atinga had the nerve to defend this misjudgement and conduct in the Nana Darkwa Baafi matter, Mr. Jumah expressed. Mr. Jumah expressed the hope that the matter would be settled amicably to avoid the former president losing the sympathy of the Ghanaian populace.
