The Former President Flt. Lt Jerry John Rawlings has asked for God�s forgiveness for Nana Darkwa Baafi, the 27-year New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist who is reported to have alleged on Top Radio that the fire that gutted his (former president Rawlings) house was caused by himself (Rawlings). Former President Rawlings described Nana Darkwa�s remark as �unfortunate� especially when the fire outbreak led to the destruction of very precious items and wondered whether he could have set his residence on fire to destroy his own property. Former President Rawlings made this remarks today when the Executives of the Ayawaso East constituency of the NDC, led by the MP for the area, Dr. Mustafa Ahmed, and some supporters of the party called on the former president and his family to express their sympathy to the former first family whose Ridge residence was gutted by fire on 14th February 2010. Whiles thanking the delegation for their show of love, sympathy and concern to him and his family, Ex-President Rawlings called on president Mills and his government to sit up and fight all negative practices which do not promote development in the country.
