NDC Primaries: Dumelo And Kwakye Ofosu Win, Oye Lithur Falls At Adentan

Popular actor John Dumelo has won the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency parliamentary primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

Per provisional results, the actor-cum-businessman won with 758 votes while his competitor, Suzy Efua Adoboe polled 99 votes.

Also, Sam George has been retained with 407 votes as against his contender, Michael Kwetey Tetteh who had 400 votes.

In the Tamale South constituency, incumbent Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has also won with 446 votes while his challenger polled only 164 votes.

Felex Kwakye Ofosu who contested in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese constituency has also won with 360 votes.

The former deputy Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu beat his main contender, Nana Ama Brown who had 327, with K.K. Aggrey polling 201 votes.

Francis Aduafo had 118, Pious Essandoh polled 94, with Thomas Peprah getting 35 and both 
John Kwadjo Tawiah and Amos Arhin polling 20 votes each.

Nana Oye Lithur who contested in the Adentan constituency, however, lost to her close contender Adamu Ramadan.


She polled 559 votes as against Adamu's 730.

The country's largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), is voting to select those who will represent its constituencies in the 2020 election. 

Some 524 aspirants are gunning to become parliamentary candidates of the NDC across 157 constituencies.
