Cheryl and Ashley Cole are no more. As the Girls Aloud star arrived back in the UK from a week-long break in LA, her rep confirmed to Sky Showbiz that the couple are to divorce. "Cheryl asks the media to respect her privacy during this difficult time. We have no further comment to make."
A spokesperson for Girls Aloud said Cheryl's bandmates are supporting the star behind closed doors. The singer, who has been married for three-and-a-half years, has been pictured without her wedding ring since rumours about Ashley's alleged infidelities hit the headlines again last week. A string of women have come forward to claim they have had affairs with the Chelsea left-back, who has not denied the most recent allegations.
Cheryl wore sunglasses and a black outfit as she arrived into Heathrow airport today. The Mail claims Ashley left their marital home in Surrey ahead of her arrival.
