The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Pyne has pooh-poohed on allegation from Ningo Prampram MP that the NPP sponsored his opponent in the just ended primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Sam Nartey George, has accused the ruling NPP of sponsoring his opponent Michael Kwetey Tetteh, NDC’s constituency chairman.
According to him, "a very key person in the government said to me that ‘look we are taking you out….you can go up and come, we will take you out’….and I saw the mighty hand of the state in this elections”
Sam George during the primaries won with a slight margin of seven votes. He polled 407 votes while his contender, Michael Kwettey, polled 400 votes.
