Detractors Of Subin Member Of Parliament Have Failed!

The elaborate and systematic plan of actions schemed by certain characters within the Subin Constituency do not appear to be ceasing anytime soon as another character assassination plot was deployed against the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi.

As part of their image-tarnishing spree of the MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, the same characters hiding behind the non-existent asempanews website are falsely accusing him of stifling about 60 women in the constituency of MASLOC funds.

According to the storyline, the Honourable Member of Parliament for Subin confiscated the MASLOC funds meant for some 60 party delegates who have declared their support for Mr Villey Acheampong, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi's presumptive contender in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

As usual, they set out to twist and turn the whole episode to suit a certain agenda which is to stain the reputation of Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi.

Facts, it is said, are sacred. As a close observer of happenings within this constituency which I am an integral member of, I can authoritatively state that the story as was widely propagated on some Kumasi FM stations, was falsified.

It must be emphasized that the whole process was facilitated by the Subin Constituency Women's Organizer, Ama Konadu Boateng, in collaboration with Hajia Zeinab, the Ashanti Regional Treasurer and one Enoch at MASLOC's office.

Honourable Eugene Boakye Antwi's role was to expedite action when the applications reached Accra. Only a dutiful and a servant leader would make such follow-ups for his constituents.

When the cheques were ready, Hajia Zeinab invited the Subin MP to come and support her and the Subin Constituency Women's Organizer to disburse the funds.

It was in the process of these disbursements that it was discovered that some of the women whose names had appeared in the list were on suspension. The MP drew the attention of Hajia Zeinab and Madam Ama Konadu Boateng to the situation and asked that a clarification should be sought from the top echelons of the party as well as MASLOC.

This temporary situation would lead to these women and the other assigns of one of the people who has declared his intention to contest, Villey Acheampong, demonstrating against the MP and rushing to radio stations to continue raining invectives on him.

The funds were given to the women involved after the necessary clarifications were sought by the MP, the Regional Treasurer and the Constituency Women's Organizer. The MP, clearly, did nothing wrong to trigger the sort of reactions generated as a result of the due diligence he sought to do.

One equally important fact that must be put out here is that, it is a palpable lie to claim that 60 women had their cheques temporarily seized. Out of the number of women who protested against the Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency, only three (3) applied and qualified. They were Victoria Agyemang-Duah, Patricia Sarpong and Victoria Frimpong.

Why would one tend to embellish such a non-issue like this when the facts defeat same if not for purposes intended to denigrate the integrity of the Member of Parliament and to create disaffection for him?

To these indolent schemers and evil-doers, you cannot depose a good man from his throne no matter how sophisticated your strategies are. Stick to the rules of the game and leave the MP alone.
