Mass Defection Hits NDC In Yagaba/Kubori Constituency

Some ward Executives, Footsoldiers and constituency Executive officers of the NDC in the Yagaba Kubori Constituency of the North East Region have announced their defection from the NDC.

The group of NDC supporters numbering over 1000 stormed the residence of the former member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Mustapha Ussif before his acclamation as the New Patriotic Party Candidate for the 2020 parliamentary elections to declare their intention to join the NPP.

The Deputy Communication Director of the NDC, Seidu Damba Abdulai whom had earlier resigned from the party spoke on their behalf and cited lack of regardand respect for footsoldiers in the NDC and ward Executives among the reasons for their defection.

He also said, the NDC does not have any comprehensive plan for the youth and therefore are destined to fail.

The NDC he said, which has won almost all the elections in the constituency with the exception of 2012 has not done anything significant for the people of Yagaba/Kubori constituency and as patriotic citizens, they owe themselves a responsibility to ensure the constituency and district develop.

“The NPP in less than 3 years of government, has given the constituency 10 dams to help improve agriculture, has constructed a district warehouse situated at Yagaba township, connected over 10 communities to the National Grid, Planting for Food and Jobs, NABCO, employed over 500 youth under Youth in Afforestation, employed significant number of Mallam’s and Imams as Arabic Instructors under the Ministry of Zongo Development, connecting more communities to network service, and among others even gone to the extend of giving them a region of their own. This is unprecedented in the history of Yagaba/Kubori Constituency and we will be ungrateful not to join the party?”

The group later joined the acclamation grounds at the Yagaba Senior High School dressed in T Shirts of Hon. Ussif to be officially inducted into the party and outdoored as “Nation Builders”.

Mr. Seidu, in conclusion assured the NPP of bringing more numbers from the NDC to them since most of them have seen the light and are beneficiaries of the good policies and programmes of Hon. Ussif and the Nana Akufo-Addo's Government.

The New Patriotic Party Executive at the acclamation grounds embraced them with excitement and asssured them of their maximum respect as all party members and a fair share of the National Cake which will bring massive development to constituency and district.

Hon. Mustapha Ussif was confirmed and outdoor as the official candidate of the NPP for the 2020 parliamentary elections for the constituency. He will be facing off with Hon. Abdul Rauf Tanko of the NDC come 2020.
