Miss Malaika Contestant Turns Movie Star

There are a myriad of beauty pageants going on in the country but when talking about the one which has been able to bring out beautiful ladies and future stars, there is no way Miss Malaika can be left out. In an interview with the 1st runner up of Miss Malaika 2008 Christabel Ekeh who became the peoples favorite after many radio presenters tipped her to win because they taught she deserve it, She told Flex newspaper that she was in school when she heard of Miss Malaika and because she was the entertainment prefect in school at that time and had the passion for pageants she had the confidence to participate in it. She continued that although she was the youngest and also was in school at that time, she had the confidence that she would win Miss Malaika but was emerged the 1st runner up among 16 other girls. Sharing some experience after staying in the Malaika house, she revealed it was a great experience meeting beautiful girls in one house and also one memorable thing to her was when they went to Dubai where they met trainers who taught them how to model which has helped her to mature as a model and a queen. She continued that after emerging the first runner up, she took it as her responsibility to visit the less privileged and also started a project which supported children with H.I.V AIDS, although she had already donated food and items to some hospitals. She has not launched her foundation yet but will be doing that by the end of this year. For now Christabel can be seen on many billboards in Accra and can also be described as the Face of Star Assurance as she is on most of their billboards, calenders and Tv commercials with an umbrella trying to portray how she has been assured by Star Assurance. Besides that, you can also see her in some commercials for Zain and some TV documentaries about tourism in Ghana. �For short, I will say I am into commercials and I have now entered into movies full time. I used to reject scripts because I was busy trying to complete some projects but now I have more time to go back to the acting field to make my dream come true.' She has now featured in one movie which is making waves in Town called Deadly Passions where she played a supporting role with John Dumelo and Yvonne Nelson. When Flex asked her which production house she would love to work with, she hinted that she is ready to work with all producers in town because they are all doing a great job.
