Obour’s Reign As Musiga President Is The Worst-Ever – A Plus Fires

Musician and social commentator, A Plus has described Obour’s tenure as the President of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) as the worst-ever he has seen ever since the followed the activities of the union.

Speaking on Accra FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo program on Wednesday, he told Nana Romeo the host that MUSIGA has been left messy under Obour, even though the union had always had its struggles

According to A Plus, the sort of abysmal performance Obour put up in his two tenures as president of MUSIGA forms part of the reasons why it is difficult for any other youth to insist on leading the union and the nation as a whole.

“Old people used to be at the helm of affairs at MUSIGA until the union was given to Obour”, A Plus said, adding: “He’s the youngest person to have led MUSIGA, and, so far, Obour is the worst MUSIGA President I have ever seen…” A Plus stated.

To set the record straight, Obour served two four-year terms as President. His last tenure ended on 11 August 2019.

MUSIGA, currently, has no substantive President owing to a lawsuit filed against the electoral process by one of the presidential aspirants, Ras Caleb. Therefore, the union’s First Vice-President, Bessa Simons, has, in accordance with MUSIGA’s constitution, been appointed as the Acting President by the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) until elections are held.
