Brazilian Netflix film The First Temptation of Christ has garnered over 2 million complaints after depicting Jesus Christ as a gay man.

Making a petition to the video-on-demand platform after the 46-minute special was released earlier this month, offended viewers demanded the site remove it for 'seriously offending' Christians.

According to the film's synopsis, the story follows Jesus as he turns 30 and 'brings a surprise guest to meet the family', the person in question seeming to be his boyfriend Orlando.
