Cash Reward For 2010 CAN Predictions

Three persons have been rewarded with cash and souvenirs by Gold Fields Ghana, the headline sponsor of the Black Stars, for correctly forecasting results at the recent African Nations Cup. The three were successful in the Prediction League organized by the mining company which involved the competitions 43 matches. In a point build-up league system, Elvis Sonne, who finished tops, was today presented with a $500.00 cash prize and other souvenirs from Gold Fields Ghana. For second-place, Ebenezer Mensah took away $300.00 while Augustine Owusu Akyaw, who came third had $200.00 for forecasting the results.Presenting the winners with their prizes, Peter Turner, MD Gold Fields Ghana and West African Operation said the company would continue supporting the Black Stars as they prepare to go for the World Cup in South Africa. "On half of Gold Fields Ghana, we says well done and congratulations. You should count yourselves as the lucky ones. It was an exciting and wonderful competition," he said. "The energy and momentum shown during the Nations Cup was great and we at Gold Fields Ghana hope to match that going into the World Cup in South Africa. "There wasn't any hope prior to the Nations Cup but we continued to stick by the team and no doubt, the players did us all proud. "We are happy to support and have the great pleasure to support on the journey to the World Cup and trust we would come out victorious," he added.
