New Voters' Register: After Protests What Is The End Game? Pratt Asks NDC

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has asked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure that their credibility is intact after the controversies surrounding the new voters' register blows over.

The NDC has been fighting the Electoral Commission following its decision to compile a new voters' register.

While the EC is not willing to change its decision, the biggest opposition party has threatened to resist an 'imposition' of a new voters' register.

According to Kwesi Pratt Jnr, if the NDC eventually ask their members to partake in the registration, it will lead to credibility challenges.

"So what is the fallback position, what is the end game," Kwesi Pratt questioned.

"Credibility is very important in our politics . . . there is nothing wrong if you don’t want a new voters’ register, but what is the end game? Now there are demonstrations and so on . . . there must be a logical projection . . . if the EC refuses to back down, will we not register? Is that the outcome we really want? If that is not what we want, what is the fallback position? We don't want a new voters' register, it is too expensive and so on . . . then later you tell your members to go and register; that will lead to serious credibility damage," he said while contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'.
