Being A Mere Messenger In A Ruling Party More Valuable Than … – Assin South MP

Member of Parliament[MP] for Assin South Constituency, Rev John Ntim Fordjour has charged members of the ruling party upset about the shortage of parliamentary primaries forms, particularly in the Ashanti Region, to be measured in expressing their misgivings.

Don’t be too engrossed in the position you are clamouring for, but consider the larger picture of Ghana’s progress. Because whatever position you may wish to hold, will be useless without having Akufo-Addo as the President of the Republic, therefore we must first consolidate that of the president before thinking of ourselves.”

“...when the party is united and an aspirant or a sitting candidate loses his/her seat, definitely someone will benefit from the party, thus being a messenger with your party in power is more significant than being a parliamentarian with your party in opposition,” he stated.

Arguing strongly on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ political discussion show, the lawmaker pointed out that Ghana will gnash its teeth in the unlikely scenario of not having President Akufo-Addo as president.

Ghana will be on the losing end in not having Akufo-Addo as our President, therefore incumbent and aspiring parliamentary candidates who have some issues in getting access to their primaries forms should not use it as a yardstick to destroy the good works of the party," he cautioned.
