Voters’ Register: We Will Take Our Destiny Into Our Own Hands If… - Otukonor

Deputy General Secretary of Ghana’s biggest opposition party, National Democratic Congress [NDC], Peter Boamah Otukonor says his party will seek other alternatives should the Electoral Commission [EC] insist on compiling a new voters’ register.

We will take our destiny into our own hands,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

His comment comes ahead of today’s Inter-Party Resistance Against New Voters’ Register [IPRAN] demonstration in Accra to demand that the Electoral Commission pulls the breaks on plans to compile a new voters’ register.

The development comes in the back of an inconclusive IPAC meeting last week, where the EC justified the need for a new electoral roll.

But, Otukonor said the EC’s attitude on the issue is “unacceptable” and “disrespectful” for Ghanaians.
