NDC, Other ‘Smaller’ Parties Used Voters’ Register Demo To Burn Cholesterol - Kamal-Deen

A Deputy Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party [NPP] Kamal-deen Abdulai says the NDC and members of the Inter-Party Resistance against the New Voter Register; Tuesday demonstration was a form of exercise.

“After eating, they just want to burn cholesterol,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

The group has been protesting to relay their displeasure about the EC’s decision to compile a new voters’ register.

Clad in red t-shirts, head and hand bands, with placards with various inscriptions including, “Pay striking teachers, and don’t waste money on needless register”, “No new register” etc. hundreds of members joined in the street protest Tuesday morning.

The protests began in Tamale with the “Tikusayi demo” and continued in Kumasi with “Yennpini demo”. This one, dubbed, “W)kp3n33”, follows the EC’s announcement of the date for compilation of the new voters’ register despite a planned meeting with the EC’s Eminent Advisory Committee.
