NPP Primaries: Akwasi Acquah File Nomination To Contest Akyem Oda Seat

Parliamentary candidate hopeful, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has filed his nomination to contest the Akyem Oda constituency primaries on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) slated for April 25th, 2020.

He was accompanied by some party faithful and delegates to submit his nomination form and other relevant documents to the Akyem oda NPP party executives and the elections committee.

The Charismatic and Affable businessman was accompanied by a large following of party delegates who virtually turned the process into a political funfair and described by many party followers in the area as the ‘people’s choice’.

The large entourage followed his convoy in a procession through the principal streets of the Oda Township amid cheers from traders and commercial drivers.

Addressing the gathering after filing his nomination, The Chief Executive of The Community Hospitals Group, Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah advised his supporters against offensive language, since that had the tendency to divide the party adding “I do so with a humble heart and an unwavering conviction that there’s nothing more fulfilling than the honour to represent and serve your people.”

He told his followers to put in more efforts to achieve the target of securing the sole ticket and bring back hope to the people of Oda.

Alexander Akwasi Acquah faces the incumbent, William Agyapong Quaittoo, who has served two terms and is bidding for a third straight term.

Alexander Akwasi Acquah was born to Mr. Paul Acquah and Mrs. Cecilia Acquah who are all natives of Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region, on the 8th December 1974. On completion of his Ordinary and Advanced level education at the Oda Secondary school, he pursued journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism where he majored in political reporting.

With over year’s practice of journalism in both Print and electronic media, he had an appointment as the spokesperson of a newly created and arguably, the biggest social intervention programme; NHIS. That was the beginning of his career as a healthcare entrepreneur.

He used the opportunity to study how to run quality Health Care facilities for the ultimate satisfaction of patients.

In 2009, he inaugurated the community Hospital, at Ashongman in Accra. The Hospital grew successfully, and after three years got another branch in Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region. A third facility opened at Ashiaman in Accra, making Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the CEO of The Community Hospital Group. Now, with two more branches in Kukurantumi and the Kaneshie market as well as a recent one under Construction in Somanya, together with four mortuary facilities, the Community Hospital (TCH) Group, has become, possibly, the biggest private Hospital Group in Ghana, with a great influence in the Eastern Region. The Group has already rolled up a programme to build a community hospital in every District in Ghana especially those that do not have access to health facilities.
