A political activist, Nii Bonney Arko, is calling on National Security to arrest NPP National Chairman, Jake Okanta Obetsebi-Lamptey, for making comments that aimed at triggering a Dagbon-like mayhem in the Ga state. Speaking to the Daily Post at his Tema office yesterday, Nii Bonney Arko said Jake�s visit to the palace of Nii Tackie Tawiah III, the disputed Ga Mantse and claiming in an interview later that the said chief was the �owner of the Ga land� seeks to stir trouble in the Ga Mashie area, create anarchy and undermine the peace and security of the Ga state in particular and Ghana in general. �Jake knows very well that there is a dispute over Dr Joe Blankson�s enstoolment as king of Ga Mashie. This was highlighted in recent comments by the President of the National House of Chiefs who said Dr Joe Blankson, a.k.a Nii Tackie Tawiah III has not been gazette as chief of Ga. In fact, the matter is before the Judicial Committee of the National House of Chiefs. Why then would Jake claim this chief is the owner of Ga land� the political activist said. Nii Bonney Arko, who is also a businessman, said Jake�s comment is similar to that made by NPP leading figure in the run-up to mayhem in Dagbon in 2002 which led to the murder of the late Ya Na and forty of his elders. �If is also similar to comments made by Nana Akufo Addo which triggered off the Bawku slaughter. This is unbecoming of NPP leaders and it should be stopped,� the activist who says he does not support any political party in the country said. Nii Bonney Arko told the Daily Post that had the other side in the Ga Mashie chieftaincy dispute not exercise restraint after Jake�s loose comments, lives and property may have been lost by now. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, who is National Chairman of Ghana�s biggest opposition party, paid a courtesy call on Nii Tackie Tawiah III at his palace a couple of days ago.
