The Member of Parliament(MP) for Atiwa East constituency who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Finance, Abena Osei Asare has distributed over 1000 Sanitizers and Veronica buckets to residents and health centers in the Atiwa East Constituency.

The gesture is to support the Government and the Assembly's fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

She also donated 1000 masks and 2500 hand gloves to the constituency as well.

Some of the beneficiaries include Anyinam market women and taxi drivers, Enyiresi government hospital and all health facilities in the district.  

Hon. Abena Osei Asare said she is embarking on this in order to support and help enhance the fight against the Coronavirus outbreak in Ghana and Atiwa East as a whole.

The District Chief Executive Officer for Atiwa East Constituency, Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah who led the distribution of the items on behalf of the Member of Parliament called on the people of Atiwa East to adhere to the safety measures and help stop the spread of the virus.

The Atiwa East Health Director, Madam Efua Afful on her part said measures have been putting in place in order to help prevent and combat the spread of the virus although they have not recorded any case in the constituency yet. He said they have started sensitization through the communities and health information centers in the district.
