The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has delivered a special facility at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region to be used as isolation center by the Government of Ghana for COVID-19 victims.

According to the GFA, it is prudent that the facility is handed over to the government to assist in the fight against the novel COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Thursday, April 16, 2020, President of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku noted with delight that "the Ghana Football Association led by the Executive Council thought that regardless of the fact that we've been going through our own what we call COVID-18 in the period leading to normalization and beyond, we will not sit down aloof. For which reason, we decided that we have a special facility in Prampram that can house up to 250 people. It is strategically placed. We decided to offer this facility to use of government as one of their isolation centers to treat our people, our colleagues, our brothers and sisters who live in Prampram and its environs".

He added that the Association has sought clearance from the Chief and people of Prampram and therefore the appropriate authorities in charge of the isolation centers will not be met with any agitations as they use the facility to treat infected persons.

'' . . following that singular decision, we decided together with the support of the Ministry of Health, the government officials to engage the Chief, the elders and the youth of Prampram and its environs. In the last few days, we've gone through that process successfully and we can confidently say that the facility is ready to be used by the government free of charge to ensure that our brothers and sisters in Prampram and its environs are well taken care of," he said at the press conference.
